Catherine Bullock

Catherine Louise Bullock, 83 passed away at St. John’s Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma on Thursday, March 5, 2020.

Catherine was born on March 7, 1936 in Independence, Kansas to Irvin and Mabel Louise (Gross) Vandermark. Catherine grew up in Independence and attended Independence schools. She married Earl Tackett and from this union the two welcomed two children, Vickie and Earl Dean Jr. Catherine and Earl later divorced. She then married Richard Hough and the two welcomed two children, Rocky and Lucky. They later divorced. For more than 25 years, Catherine travelled the United States driving an eighteen-wheeler. She loved to travel, paint, crochet and macramé, playing BINGO and go shopping.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Irvin and Mabel Louise (Gross) Vandermark, sons, Earl Dean Jr., and Lucky Hough, and sister, Sue Nez.

Catherine’s memory will carry on with her children, Vickie Hoffman of Independence, Rocky Hough of Kansas City, and Susan McDonald of Topeka, sisters, Retha (Bill) Fairbanks of Neodesha, and Wanda Wright of Linden CA., 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Potts Chapel and graveside services  will take place on Monday, October 12th at 10:00 am at Mount Hope Cemetery in Independence.
