Carl Evenson died at the age of 38, in a motorcycle accident on Sunday, August 29, 2010. At the time of his death he was living in Raton, New Mexico. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, September 5, 2010 at the First Baptist Church in Mound Valley, Kansas. Burial will follow in the Harmony Grove Cemetery under the direction of the Potts Chapel in Cherryvale, Kansas. Visitation hours will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Saturday, September 4, 2010 with the family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Potts Chapel in Cherryvale, Kansas. The family has suggested memorials to his children, a memorial fund will be established and contributions may be left at the Potts Chapel in Cherryvale, Kansas. Born January 31, 1972 in Chanute, Kansas. He was the son of Robert G. Evenson and Marjorie J. Norris Evenson. He attended school at AltoonaMidway until 7th grade, and then the family moved to Humboldt, Kansas where he graduated High School. He worked for area farmers. Returned to school to receive his CDL and was a heavy equipment operator. This began a career in the oil field business. He worked for Consolidated Oil Company the job took him to Colorado, he soon moved to that area. Carl often called Colorado Gods Country. Carl married Linda Morgan in New Mexico they have three sons, Matthew, Kyler, and Robert. At the time of his death he was a Manager for Raton, New Mexico, Panhandle Oilfield Services, Co. Inc. of Liberal, Kansas. Carl moved back to Kansas for a year. At that time he became an active member of the First Baptist Church of Mound Valley, where he was saved and Baptized. Carl enjoyed spending time reading his Bible, fishing, and working on older trucks and his motorcycle. Survivors include his wife, Linda. Sons, Matthew, Kyler and Robert. Sister Carolyn Baxter, and husband Terry Baxter of Kansas City, Mo. Sharon Shoop and husband Raymond of Cherryvale, Ks. Charlene Anderson and husband Jerry Anderson, of Humboldt, KS. Nieces and nephews. Rob Shoop of Lenexa, Ks, Hollye Baxter of Kansas City, Mo. Shannon shoop of Shawnee, Ks. Nathan Baxter and wife Carissa and their child Raya Sun of Beavercreek, Ohio. He was preceded in death by a sister, Karen J. Evenson, His Father and Mother. Carl was an organ donor.
