Brian Lester

Brian Edward Lester, 75, went from his wife’s arms into the arms of his beloved Savior, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday, August 16th at 4 pm (while residing at Brookdale, Claremore, OK). Brian died after a valiant fight with Lewy Body Dementia. What a cruel disease this is!

Brian was born on October 20, 1946 to Robert and Isabel “Helen” (Hyde) Lester in Wichita, KS. He married Carole (Carrie) L. on February 14, 2006 in Kansas City, MO.

Brian was a lineman for a phone co., then 23 years in the Navy (from boatswain’s mate to Lt. Commander) he retired in 1989. In the Navy he served as boat captain down some of the most dangerous rivers in Vietnam. He served 4 yours there! He then was a purchasing agent. Brian had 3 degrees. He was an MBA. He loved to spend hours doing household spreadsheets. He had them 5 years out!!

Brian became a born-again Christian and loved the Lord. He not only read his Bible (16 times) but has Strongs & other reference books out to have a deeper understanding of God’s Word. He loved teaching Sunday School & to sing praises (either with Carrie or the men of the church). Praising God brought him great joy! Brian was a very loving & gentle husband to his wife of almost 17 years. Now he has his greatest desire: He is sitting at the Feet of his Jesus.

He is survived by his loving wife Carrie of the home; Son: Robert Lester (Stacy) Augusta, KS, daughter: Cristin Calvin (Brian) Severy, KS, stepson: Doug Silk (Stephanie) Stafford, VA, stepdaughter: Angela Burgos (Tito) Rolla, MO, stepson: Scott Griffin (Fla.) brother: Bruce Lester (Judy) Arden Hills, MN, 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Janet Lewis.

Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Brian’s Life will be held at Potts Chapel in Independence on Friday, October 7th at 2 pm. Memorial contributions can be made to ALZ.org or St. Judes.
