It is with our deepest heartbreak and our most profound sadness that we announce the passing of Brenda Maureen Williams on July 16th, 2025. Brenda was born on November 26th, 1960, to Robert J and Evelyn M Ward in Neodesha Kansas.
Brenda grew up in Neodesha graduating from Neodesha High School in 1978. Brenda remained in the Neodesha area working a few jobs before beginning employment at Wilson Medical Center as a cook. And boy could she cook. She was known to make the best chicken and noodles, chicken salad and oatmeal and raisin cookies. Brenda also worked as a CNA at Wilson Medical Center before finally pursuing her dream of becoming a nurse. Brenda obtained her Licensed Practical Nurse from Labette Community College in June of 2000. She began her nursing career at Wilson Medical Center before beginning work at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center for the past 24.5 years until returning to Wilson Medical Center this past April where she was employed at the time of her passing. Brenda was the epitome of what a nurse is to be. She was a hard worker, a great helper, kind to her coworkers and was very compassionate and caring to her patients. You would be hard put to find a former patient or coworker that has a bad word to say about Brenda. She was well respected, well liked and has left a huge legacy behind.
Brenda was married to Marvin Williams and out of that union came two sons.
Brenda was very much a family oriented person. She loved her family wholeheartedly and enjoyed having them over for family gatherings.
Brenda is survived by her two sons, Brent (Lindsey) Williams (Cherryvale). Michael Williams (Independence). Her mother Evelyn M Ward (Dearing). Five granddaughters Olyvia Williams and Jorden Williams (Neodesha) Faith Williams(Cherryvale) and Dayah Wood and Kree Wood(Cherryvale). One great grandson Ryker Fouts (Neodesha). Two sisters Linda Plisek (Dearing) and Rhonda(Bob)Miller(independence). Nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.
She was preceded in death by her father Robert J Ward and an infant brother.
Brenda also had a love for travel. She enjoyed cruises and trips to the beach. She also loved the casino, and she enjoyed the travel and casino trips with her favorite travel buddy and best friend Kari Hernandez.
