Bob F. Kirby age 77, of Cherryvale, Kansas died Friday, January 09, 2009 at his home in Cherryvale, Kansas. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 12, 2009 at the First Baptist Church in Cherryvale, Kansas with Reverend Rusty Hammer officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery under the direction of the Potts Chapel in Cherryvale, Kansas. Visitation hours will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, January 11, 2009 with the family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Cherryvale, Kansas. The family has suggested memorials to the Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice or the Windsor Home Health Care and contributions may be left at the Potts Chapel. Bob was born December 13, 1931 in Everton, Missouri to Clyde and Mabel Aleshire Kirby. He grew up in Dadeville, Missouri and graduated from Dadeville High School in 1949. In 1949 Bob married Anna Norris and the couple later
orced. On July 10, 1952 Bob entered the United States Army and served until his honorable discharge on June 19, 1954. On June 11, 1965 Bob married Joan Kesler in Erie, Kansas the couple made their home in Cherryvale, Kansas. Bob worked for Bartlett Milling Company in Coffeyville, Kansas for 35 years until retiring in 1994. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Dadeville, Missouri, loved the outdoors, gardening and spending time with his grandchildren. Survivors include two sons Jerry Kesler of Jerome, Idaho and Steve Kesler of Louisburg, Kansas; seven daughters Darla Hathcoat and Karen Lowe both of Springdale, Arkansas, Juana Fly and Leslie Coble both of Springfield, Missouri, Alissa Green of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, Melissa Niemier and Roberta Housel both of Cherryvale, Kansas; three sisters Bonnie Stapp of Greenfield, Missouri, Carolyn Glenn of Republic, Missouri and Linda Dickinson of Springfield, Missouri; 15 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Joan; his parents; and two sisters Rowena Polzin and Joyce Jones.
