Beverly Jane Wilson, age 79, of Fredonia, Kansas died Saturday, February 20, 2010 at the Golden Living in Fredonia, Kansas. Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at the Mount Hope Cemetery under the direction of the Potts Chapel in Independence, Kansas. Visitation hours will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 23, 2010 with the family receiving friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Potts Chapel in Independence, Kansas. The family has suggested memorials to the Shriners Crippled Childrens Fund and contributions may be left at the Potts Chapel in Independence, Kansas. Beverly was born May 31, 1930 in Berwin, Illinois to Harold D. and Hazel L. Ballinger Snell. She grew up in Independence, Kansas and attended school in Independence. In August of 1949 Beverly married James D. Melton in Bentonville, Arkansas and the couple later divorced. In August of 1958 Beverly married Bob Wilson in Independence, Kansas and the couple later divorced. Beverly worked as a waitress in several restaurants in Independence, Kansas. In 1974 Beverly went to work at Emerson Electric for seven and a half years. She then carried papers for the Independence Reporter for seven years before retiring. She was a member of the AARP and the Comet Camper Club. Survivors include two daughters Harolene Clark of Neodesha, Kansas and Linda Linder of Fredonia, Kansas six grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
