Beverly Laird

Our beloved mother and grandmother, Beverly Faye Laird, peacefully passed away on May 25th, 2018 while she was surrounded by family. She was born on June 9th, 1930 to James and Blanche Burnett.
She married Bill Laird on July 5th, 1946 in Fredonia, Kansas. They lived in Independence most their lives and made it their home. She was employed by ACC for several years. She owned Laird's Liquor store. She eventually retired from Kathy's Portrait Studio where she worked doing one of her favorite hobbies.
Beverly enjoyed many hobbies in her lifetime that included sewing, fishing, camping, skiing, archery, photography, and crafts. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with family. You could often find her running to rummage sales or flea markets with family in tow.
She is survived by her daughter Linda and son-in-law Mark Gillen; her granddaughter Barbie Sinclair and husband JT; grandson Mike Housel; granddaughters Lori Whiteneck and Brandy Verge; great grandchildren Jennifer Wright and husband Justin, Crystal Johnson and husband Mark, Timmy Botts, DJ Kessler, Sophie Housel, Sidney Housel, Danika Burton, Evan Burton, Ashlyn Kuehn, Madison Verge, Mia Verge, and Pearson Collins; and great-great grandchildren Novalee, Kohen, Jaycie, Jailynn, Johnna, and Madalynn; as well as many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband Bill, her parents, her sister Alberta Nichols, and her brothers Bill and Wayne Burnett.
Her grave side services are being held by Potts Funeral Chapel on Wednesday May 30th, 2018 at 10am in the Mount Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday May 29th, 2018 from 12 to 8pm.
