Betty Hull

Betty Ann Hull (Blakemore), age 82, of Independence, Kansas passed away August 4, 2022. She is now at peace and reunited with the love of her life….Diz.

Betty was born on February 11, 1940. She attended elementary, junior high and high school in Wayside and Havana schools. After marrying Diz she finished her last semester of high school in Independence. Some of her places of employment include Head Start, Mercy Hospital, the Box Factory and Emerson Electric Company. Some activities she enjoyed were gardening, hunting, fishing, going to casinos, baking and babysitting her grandchildren. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family. She had the extreme joy of becoming a great-grandma of 5.

Betty is survived by her 3 daughters: Valarie Nickell (husband Merle) of Hesston, Kansas, Kathy Green (husband Merle) of Ridgedale, Missouri and Lisa Hull of Mulvane, Kansas. She leaves behind five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister, Geri Kolb (Blakemore), and three brothers, John Blakemore, Jim Blakemore and Dave Blakemore. She also had nephews and nieces who loved her.

She was preceded in death by her husband Harold “Diz” Hull.

Funeral services will be held at Potts Chapel in Independence on Thursday, August 11 at 11:00 am with interment immediately following at Havana Cemetery, Havana, Kansas.
