Betty Hanchett

Betty Jean Hanchett, 84, of Cherryvale passed away at 10:05 a.m. Thursday, December 30, 2010 at her home. Cremation has taken place and private family services will be held at a later date under the direction of Potts Chapel of Cherryvale. The family may be contacted at 413 W. 2nd, Cherryvale, Kansas. Memorial remembrances are suggested to the Harry Hynes Hospice and may be left at Potts Chapel or mailed to P.O. Box 801, Independence, Kansas. Betty Jean Hanchett was born January 20, 1926 at Dennis, Kansas the daughter of Leonard R. Carson and Charlotte Catherine Rhoades Carson. She grew up in Dennis, Kansas and graduated from high school in 1944. On May 7, 1947 at Cherryvale, Kansas she was united in marriage to John Hanchett and he survives at the home. Survivors are: husband John of the home, one son, Charles Leonard Hanchett of Rogers, Arkansas, three daughters, Kandace Churchill of Lawrence, KS, Debra Adams of Port Angeles, Washington, Denise Condon of Cherryvale, KS, two brothers, one sister, three grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son John Hanchett Jr.
