Bertha Mallow

Bertha M. Mallow, 90, of Cherryvale, Kansas passed away at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, March 3, 2011 at the Cherryvale Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Cherryvale. Celebration of Life Services will be held 11:00 a.m., Monday, March 7, 2011 at Potts Chapel of Cherryvale. Family visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until service time at Potts Chapel of Cherryvale. Interment will be held in Fairview Cemetery in Cherryvale, Kansas. Memorial remembrances are suggested to the Cherryvale Presbyterian Church and may be left with Potts Chapel. Bertha Marie Mallow was born June 6, 1920 in Cherryvale, Kansas the daughter of J.A. Nicholson and Nora Blinn Nicholson. She grew up in Cherryvale and graduated from Cherryvale High School. On April 22, 1945 in Cherryvale she was united in marriage to Merle C. Mallow and he preceded her in death March 2, 1991. Bertha lived her entire life in Cherryvale and worked at various clothing factories in Cherryvale. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Cherryvale. Survivors include two daughters, Stella A. Blanchard and her husband Charles of Cherryvale, Kansas, Debra I Jones and her husband Virgil of Shawnee, Kansas, one son Darrell L. Mallow and his wife Dorothy of Cherryvale, Kansas, 1 granddaughter, Cherie Welch of Tonganoxie, Kansas, 1 great grandson, Isaac Daschke of Tonganoxie, Kansas, 1 sister, Jessie Lickteig of Cherryvale, Kansas, 5 step grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and sister Esther Nicholson.
