Bayne Newman

October 21, 2005 — October 27, 2021

Independence

Bayne Jeremy Newman was indeed one of a kind. He arrived in this world on October 21, 2005, in Arkansas City, KS, into the loving arms of his parents Heather and Jeremy. His delivery was early, and neither of his parents were ready, but ironically that proved to be just the opening act for the exciting life he would go on to live.

Upon his arrival, he became the instant sidekick to his older brother Dylan. A few years later, with little brother Jeryn's arrival on the scene, this little band of brothers was complete. Together, they were an ornery, inseparable, and fearless crew. Fighting and wrestling with his brothers was a pretty standard pastime, with Bayne (on several rumored occasions) pulling out the win. The boys bond was forged over endless battles on living room floors and countless backyard shenanigans.

One of Bayne's most endearing characteristics was that he lived his life unapologetically and on his own terms. From his earliest days learning to walk, he was unstoppable, and it wasn't long before he was climbing and vaulting over everything he could. As he continued to grow, we all watched as his desire to climb taller obstacles grew in equal measure. Indeed, there wasn't a fence, boulder, tree, or house he couldn't (or wouldn't) climb - they were all fair game in his book. Over the years, his adventurous spirit may have contributed to a few gray hairs for his parents. Still, there was no doubt they understood that this was simply who Bayne was – and they loved him deeply for it.

Bayne was an avid outdoorsman from an early age. He loved going hunting with Papa Mike, fishing with his buddies, hiking with his family, and jumping into every body of water he encountered. If there was a fish to catch (and occasionally kiss), a snake to grab, or a skunk to chase…he accomplished it without a second glance. There isn't a person who met him who doesn't have at least a handful of audacious, hilarious and downright wild stories about Bayne.

And yet, beneath his daredevil exterior ran a deep and steady undercurrent of affection for those he loved. His love for others was every bit as fierce and full as the life he lived. In the days since his passing, his family has been touched by several of his friends who reached out with personal stories about Bayne. How he would talk with them, encourage them, and mentor them through the difficulties they were enduring.

On October 27, 2021, at the age of 16, Bayne left this world far too soon. He leaves behind a legacy of stories, memories, and countless people who love and miss him dearly. Bayne is preceded in death by grandmother Pam Newman. He is survived by parents, Heather and Jeremy Newman, brothers Dylan Newman and Jeryn Newman, paternal grandparents Mike and Katherine Newman, material grandparents Dwight and Tina Coda, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
