Barry L. Farmer, 30, of Elk City, Kansas, died Saturday at Mercy Hospital. Celebration of Life Services will be held 1:00 pm Thursday September 15, 2011at the First Baptist Church North Campus, Independence, with the Reverend Jim Blocker Officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Elk City, Kansas under the direction of the Potts Chapel, Independence. Visitation hours will be held from 8:00 am to 7:00 pm with the family receiving friends from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at the Potts Chapel , Independence. The family has suggested memorials to the Dylan Farmer and Addison Farmer College Fund and contributions may be left at the Potts Chapel in Independence, Kansas. Barry was born February 23rd., 1981 in Kansas City, Missouri , the son of Leslie Otto and Gina Lewis Farmer. He grew up in Neodesha, Kansas and attended the Neodesha School System. Barry was united in Marriage to Lora Wall they later divorced. Barry work as a carpet layer for Bill Farris. Barry also work as a Iron worker. Survivors include, his companion Maranda Edwards, mother and stepFather Gina and Mike Zinser of Elk City, Ks., a son Dylan Farmer and daughter Addison Farmer of Neodesha, Ks., three sisters Amanda Farmer of Elk City, Ks., Belinda Sisco of Ark., Megan Zinser of Cherryvale, Ks Chelsie Zinser,Independence,Ks two brothers David farmer of Ark., Bryan Zinser of Cherryvale, Kansas He was preceded in death by his father.
