BARRY ALLAN DIXON NEWS MEDIA NOTIFICATION Barry Allan Dixon, age 50, of Caney, Kansas died Sunday, August 22, 2010 at the St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Cremation has taken place. Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, August 27, 2010 at the Tyro Christian Church with the Evangelist David Bycroft officiating under the direction of the Potts Chapel in Caney, Kansas. Friends may sign the register book on Thursday, August 26, 2010 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Potts Chapel in Caney, Kansas. Barry was born July 29, 1960 in El Dorado, Kansas. Raised by step father Jack Scovel and Mother Ethel Baker Scovel. Barry went to grade school in Coffeyville, Kansas until family moved to Caney, Kansas. Barry graduated from the Caney High School in 1978. On December 31, 1981 Barry married Gina Holley in Miami, Oklahoma. The couple made their home in Caney, Kansas. Barry worked for M M Contracting, later for OK oil and has been a self employed welder since 1989. Survivors include his wife Gina of the home one son Barry Allan Dixon II of Havana, Kansas two daughters Brandy and Mandy Dixon both of Caney, Kansas one brother Terry Dixon of Afton, Oklahoma one step brother Craig Scovel of New Boston, Texas one sister Toni Timmerman of Tyro, Kansas and one step sister Christy Stroman of Norman, Oklahoma four grandchildren Bladen Allan Dixon, Claden Eli Dixon, Baylee Nicole Hollandsworth and Jaxson Allan Wright.
