BARBARA ARLENE(JAMES) CLARK

Barbara Arlene (James) Clark, age 79 of Independence, Kansas passed away September 20, 2018 at the Medicalodge in Independence, Kansas.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, September 24, 2018 at the St. Andrew's Catholic Church with Father Marco officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Winfield, Kansas under the direction of the Potts Chapel.

Reciting of the Rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m., Sunday, September 23, 2018 at the St. Andrew's Catholic Church.

The family has suggested memorials to the St. Andrew's Altar Society and contributions may be left at the Potts Chapel.

Barbara Arlene (James) Clark was born December 27, 1938 in Enid, Oklahoma to Arlo W. and Marie (Smith) James. Barbara grew up on a farm near Pond Creek and attended 12 years of school there, graduating in 1956. She graduated from Oklahoma State University with a BS degree in Office Administration in 1960. After graduating from OSU, Barbara moved to Wichita where she met her husband.

Barbara married Jim Clark in Wichita, Kansas on November 22, 1961, and they lived in Kansas, Missouri and Texas throughout their married life. In June of 1987 they moved to Independence, Kansas and remained there. Barbara was a member of the St. Andrew's Catholic Church, St. Andrew's Altar Society, Mercy Hospital Auxiliary, and Kappa Delta Society Sorority.

Survivors include her husband, Jim and children: J.D. and wife Pam Clark of Hartley, TX, Bob Clark of Kansas City, MO, Jennifer and husband Kevin Hewitt of Beloit, KS, Becky and husband Terry Hill of Waxahachie, TX, Jeanne and husband Nate Schumacher of Elkhart, KS; Grandchildren J.W., Jack, Matthew and Michael Clark, Kelsey Clark, Madison Hewitt, Danielle and Aaron Tesei, Aubrey, Lauren and Gavin Schumacher; step grandchildren Megan, Paige and Macy Hill; Brother Keith James of Enid, OK. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, E.W. James.
