Arrena "Rena" Knight

Arrena Belle “Rena” Knight, Glenpool, Oklahoma passed away peacefully on Monday, July 25th, 2022. Funeral services will be held at Potts Chapel in Independence on Friday, July 29th, 2022, at 11:00am with Rev. Danny Perryman officiating, assisted by Rev. Leona Wade. Visitation will be prior to the service from 9:00am-11:00am. Interment will be in the Clay family plot in the Fairview Cemetery in Cherryvale, Kansas.

Arrena Belle Knight was the daughter of Ira Scott and Bessie Leota (Clay) Knight. She was born on December 23rd, 1923, in Corbin City, Kansas, a small brickyard village one mile south of Cherryvale, Kansas. She departed this life in her home surrounded by loved ones at the age of 98 years old.

Rena grew up and attended school in Cherryvale, graduating from Cherryvale High School in 1943. After graduation she moved to California and worked a few years at the Mira Loma (Army) Quarter-master Depot during WWII. After the war ended, she moved back to the Midwest. Rena was saved February 27th, 1947, at the age of 23, and sanctified June 21st, 1952, at the Ochelata, Oklahoma Camp Meeting. She was called into the Lord’s work and helped in revivals as singer and worker for about 11 years. For 35 years she was the editor of two church publications: The Flaming Sword, official publication of the Fire Baptized Holiness Church (now the Bible Holiness Church), and the Wesleyan Herald, official publication of the Church of the Wesleyan Holiness Alliance.

Survivors include tow brothers: Harold Hugh Knight, Oswego, KS., and Ira Keith Knight, Tulsa, OK.; two sisters: Mrs. Wilma Grace Miller, Wichita, KS., and Mrs. Leota LaVon (Bonnie) Cox, Glenpool, OK.

She was preceded in death by her parents Rev. and Mrs. Ira Knight, Bartlesville, OK.; three brothers: William Wayne Knight Elk City, KS., John Carl Knight, Buel, MO., and Dwight Eugene Knight, Verdigris. Ok.; and two sisters: Mrs. Ruth Fern Brown, Park hill, OK. and Mrs. Vera Nell Henry, Independence, KS.
