Mrs. Arlene E. Bruington, age 95, passed away peacefully Saturday morning February 15, 2025, at her residence in Oklahoma City, OK. She was born August 9, 1929, daughter to Henry and Anna (Harms) Jabben.
Arlene was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Harold Bruington and son Jeff Bruington. Four brothers, Ray Jabben, Robert Jabben, twin brother Arnold Jabben, and Elvin Jabben, One sister Gertrude Ruehling.
She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Joplin, Missouri and was a homemaker. She was baptized, confirmed, and married at Zion Lutheran Church located in Independence, KS where she grew up. Arlene gladly served on various committees within the church through the years. The love of Christ was very dear to her heart. She enjoyed baking, sewing, and the many family gatherings in her home.
Arlene is survived by one son Brent Bruington and wife Lana of Oklahoma City, OK. Grandchildren Eric Bruington of Oklahoma City, OK, Jeremy Bruington of Pittsburg, KS, and Jessica Large and husband Ryan of Wauneta, NE. Great grandchildren Charlie, Wade, and Kassidee Bruington. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.
Funeral Services will be held at Zion Lutheran Chruch in Independence, Kansas on February 24, 2025, at 10am. Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery in Independence, Kansas.
