Anthony (Tony) Bellm passed away on Wednesday, July 8, 2020 at Montgomery Place Skilled Nursing Facility in Independence, Kansas at the age of 86. Tony was born on December 15, 1933 to Anthony and Veronica (Nimsic) Bellm in Pierce City, Missouri. He married La Donna Irene (Donnie) Bellm on February 14, 1953 and continued to live in Pierce City until they moved to Independence, Kansas in 1958.
Tony was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle and brother. He and Donnie had 5 children, 8 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Survivors include his children, Pamela Ricken and Dave of Wichita, Kansas; Deborah Bellm of Independence, Kansas; Kim Bellm of Independence, Kansas; David Bellm and Carrie of Nixa, Missouri and Jerald Bellm and Ginger of Independence, Kansas; grandchildren, Jennifer, Stephanie, Jason, Kelly, Brian, Zach, Stefan and Kyle; great grandchildren, Logan, Kolby, Ethan, Kennedy, Faith, Meghan, Elise, Bryson, Evelyn, Zoey, Laney, Eleanor, Ace and Beckett. His beloved dog, Oscar, also survived Tony and is now residing with his son Kim. He is preceded in death by his wife, Donnie, his parents and 7 siblings.
Tony retired from Cities Service Company/Williams Companies after 36 years of service. Tony loved to work on anything with a motor. Lawn mowers, gardening equipment, old cars, motorcycles and tractors. He was a skilled mechanic and also painted many vehicles and tractors throughout his life. All of his sons inherited this knack and have worked in auto body or mechanical capacities throughout their lives.
Visitation will be held at 9:00 am on Saturday, July 18, 2020 in the gathering space at St. Andrew Catholic Church, Independence, Kansas, with Mass to follow at 10 am. If you plan to attend the visitation or Mass, you will be required to wear a mask. Burial will take place following Mass at Cambridge Cemetery in Cambridge, Kansas.
