AnnaBell Vesta Allison, age 99, of Independence, Kansas passed away Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at the Medicalodge of Independence, Kansas.
Graveside services will be held Friday, November 7, 2014 at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Elk City, Kansas with the Reverend Jeff Owen officiating under the direction of the Potts Chapel in Independence, Kansas.
Visitation hours will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, November 6, 2014 with the family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Potts Chapel in Independence, Kansas.
The family has suggested memorials to the American Cancer Society and contributions may be left at the Potts Chapel.
AnnaBell Allison was born May 16, 1915 in Elk City, Kansas the daughter of Charles and Vesta A. Wheeler Simmons. She attended Grade School at Card Creek and Circle Valley and 2 years at Elk City High School.
AnnaBell was united in marriage on July 28, 1934 to Alva Allison in Caney, Kansas. They made their home in Valley Center, Kansas for 40 years until Alvas death in 1989. She then moved to Independence at Penn Terrace Apartments.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Valley Center, Kansas and was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Smith Phipps Post 73 in Valley Center, Kansas for 40 years and was also a member of the Community Church in Independence.
She is survived by one sister Pauline Vestal of Independence, Kansas and several nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her father, mother, seven brothers and one sister.
