Anna Pittman

Anna Pittman, 101 of Havana, Kansas died Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at her home in Havana, Kansas. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at the Havana Cemetery in Havana, Kansas. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 28, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. with family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Potts Chapel of Caney Kansas. The Family has suggested memorials to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice or to the United Methodist Church of Havana, Kansas and these remembrances may be left in care of Potts Chapel, P.O. Box Anna was born January 25, 1911 in Niotaze, Kansas the daughter of Alexander V. Wilke and Inez Louise Gehring Wilke. She went to School at the Jayhawk School in Niotaze Kansas. She moved to Havana at the age of 15. She lived there the rest of her Life. On February 8, 1928 Anna was united in marriage to Dallas H. Pittman and the couple made their home in Havana, Kansas. He preceded her in death. Anna was a homemaker, and worked by her husband s side on the farm. She loved gardening, crocheting, and quilting. Anna was a member of the United Methodist Church of Havana, Kansas., where she served as Treasurer. She was one of the first persons to offer service to needy people of the church. She was treasurer of the Cemetery board in Havana for 23 years. She was a member of the Havana Grange, was on the drill team, and held all eight positions. Anna also served on the election board for a number of years. Survivors include two daughters, Grace Cole of Orlando, Florida and Diana Cox and husband Bob of Havana, Kansas. Grandchildren Jan Ryther and husband John of Orlando, Fl. Glee LaVroff and Husband Art of Hesperia, CA. Susan Lokey and husband Ron of McAlester, OK. Debbie Clark and Husband Ronnie of Luther, OK Donna Williams and husband Mark of Wellston, OK, Cathy Cain and Husband Eddie of St. Paul, NC. Robin Goodson of Carrollton, TX. LeAnna Miller and husband Shane Of Havana, KS. Lynn Kirkland and wife Cody of Luther, OK. Dennis and wife Sheryl Garr of Hiwasse, AR. Bill and wife Sara Garr of Lamar, MO. 23 great grandchildren and 18 great great Grandchildren. Anna was preceded in death by her parents her husband, Dallas, a brother, Theodore Wilke and two daughters, Aletha Kirkland and Betty Garr and one son , John Vincent Pittman and granddaughter Lisa Cox.
