Ann Bowers Warner-Roach passed away on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 with her children at her bedside. Ann was born November 8, 1930 to Edwin and Bessie Bowers in rural Independence, Kansas. She was the youngest of five children, all who have preceded her in death over her 84 years of wonderful life.
Ann completed high school in 1948 and married Wilbur Warner of Elk City, Kansas. They lived on a farm near Independence and raised two children, Valorie and Bill. In 1974 Ann moved to Houston, Texas where she resided until her death.
Ann worked in real estate sales for many years and became a real estate broker. I was through this exciting and fulfilling career that she met and married James Roach in 1989. They enjoyed many things in life together. Traveling and playing golf together were two of their favorites. Sadly, Jim preceded Ann in death in 2004.
Mrs. Roach is survived by her two children, Valorie Newman and her husband Charlie of Houston, Texas; her son Bill Warner and wife Brenda of Independence, Kansas. Ann also enjoyed her 7 grandchildren spread throughout the Midwest and Texas. Aaron & Rachel Newman of Denver, CO; Roxanne & Scott Holt of Houston, TX; Lisa & Jeremiah Johnson of Independence, KS; Jessica & Rob Fliearman of Independence, KS; Nic Boyle of Independence, KS; Blake Warner of Kansas City, KS; and Brian Warner of Kansas City, KS. Ann also enjoyed 9 great grandchildren.
Memorial Services will be held in Independence, Kansas at Potts Chapel on Wednesday, January 14, 2015. Visitation will start at 9:00 a.m. with family present at 1:00 p.m. The memorial service will begin at 2:00 p.m. with interment at Mount Hope Cemetery.
