Angela Shawn (Reynolds) Sherman, a beloved mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, and friend, passed away in Independence, Kansas, on September 3, 2026, after a courageous battle with multiple sclerosis. She was 53 years old.

Angela was born in Independence, Kansas, in 1973 to Janice (Hare) Reynolds, who preceded her in death, and Lloyd G. Reynolds Jr. of Neodesha, Kansas. She graduated from Wichita High School before going on to serve in the United States Air Force. While stationed in England, Angela met and married Paul Wilkins on January 21, 1993.

During her time in England, Angela welcomed two children, James and Haley Wilkins, whom she loved more than anything. Being a mother was one of the most important parts of Angela’s life. She was always proud of her children and did her best to support them, showing up for the people she loved and cared about.

Angela found joy in many simple and meaningful things. She loved reading, especially being able to share books and stories with her children. She enjoyed baking cookies, cakes, and pies for birthdays and special events. Her sister would proudly say that Angela made the best cookies. Angela also loved taking on large cross-stitch projects and crocheting, creating beautiful pieces that reflected the time, patience, and love she put into everything she did.

Of all the things Angela accomplished, she would likely say that her greatest pride was the children she raised. She was also proud of the many cross-stitch and crochet projects she completed throughout her life. Angela had a special way of making people feel loved, cared for, and important.

Angela is survived by her father, Lloyd G. Reynolds Jr.; her children, James Wilkins and Haley Wilkins; her grandson, Gavin Wilkins of Wichita, Kansas; her siblings, Barbie (Reynolds) Landsaw and Philip Reynolds, both of Independence, Kansas; and many nieces and nephews, including Raiden, Rocky, Joseph, Madison, Miah, Clairity, and Harper, as well as her great-nieces and great-nephew, Mairyn, Mavis, and Sterling.

A memorial celebrating Angela’s life will be held on October 3, 2026, at Elk City Lake. Family and friends are invited to gather, release balloons in her memory, and share the stories, memories, and moments that made Angela so special.

Angela will be deeply missed, but her love will continue through the children she cherished, the family she loved, and the many people whose lives she touched.
