Andrea Mcdiarmid

Andrea Dawn McDiarmid, Independence, passed away on Friday, March 25th, 2022, in Wichita, Kansas. A Celebration of Life Service will be on Thursday, March 31st, 2022, at Potts Chapel at 1:00pm. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 30th at Potts Chapel, 1:00-7:00pm, with family greeting friends 5:00-7:00pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials suggested to Cancer Center of Independence, AWOL, and Andrea’s Grandchildren’s Fund. Please dress causal and wear her favorite color purple.

Andrea Dawn (Lewis) McDiarmid was born on September 21st, 1969, in Versailles, Kentucky. She was the daughter of Robert and Diana (Durry) Lewis. She moved to McPherson, Kansas in her early childhood and attended McPherson Schools. In the early 1990’s she moved to Independence, Kansas. She worked for Gold and Silver Pawn Shop, a local convenient store, Curves, Montgomery Place and for Dr. Moorhead at the time of her death.

On May 21st, 1999, she married the love of her life, Justin McDiarmid. They made their home in Independence.

Andrea enjoyed running, shopping, crafting, going on cruises and spending time with her absolute best friend Sharla Mangan. She loved spending time with her friends and family.

Preceding her in death were her mother Diana, grandparents Jean and RC Durry, Aunt Mary Jo Durry, father-in-law Jim McDiarmid and brother-in-law Chad McDiarmid.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband Justin; sons: Mark Freeman and Javan Freeman; stepson Dylan McDiarmid (Morgan Martin); grandchildren: Oaklee, Bodhi and Huxlee; brother James (Clellie) Lewis; niece Catelyn Lewis; best friend “sister” Sharla Mangan; father Robert (Loretta) Lewis; stepsister Cathy (Jeremy) Little; nephew and niece Aidan and Lenora; mother-in-law Loretta McDiarmid; step mother-in-law Becky McDiarmid; brother-in-law Ryan McDiarmid Brian Hight.
