Adrian L. Schaben,82, of Independence died Wednesday July 25, 2012 at the Regal Estates Independence, Kansas. Celebration of Life Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday July 30, 2012 at the Potts Chapel Independence with the Reverend Dale Cornett Officiating. Visitation hours will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Monday July 30, 2012 with the family receiving friends from 10:00a.m. to 11:00 a.m.at the Potts Chapel Independence. The family has suggested memorials to the Southwestern Bell Pioneer Club and contributions may be left at the Potts Chapel Independence, Kansas. Adrian was born August 25, 1929 in Bazine, Kansas the son of Herman and Florence Olson Schaben. He grew up in Bazine, Kansas and graduated from the Bazine School System in 1947. On March 8, 2000 Adrian was united in Marriage to Shirley Christy in the St Thomas, Islands and Shirley survives at their home. Adrian worked for the Southwestern Bell Telephone Company as a line man and through promotions ended up working in the office area and retired after 41 years. Adrian was a avid hunter and fisherman he was also a member of the Southwestern Bell Pioneer Club. Survivors include Shirley his wife of the home one son Kenton Schaben of Berryton, Kansas, one step son Scott Severeid of Calif., two brothers Robert Schaben of Tx., and Troy Schaben of Wash. St., four sisters Celesta Cole of Az., Carol Allen of Ks., Donna Thomason of Tx., Marlene Wyatt of Calif., five grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
